About the Project

UChicagoShuttles.com is a project by Andrei Thüler that tracked the University of Chicago Shuttle network between April 2024 and September 2025.

By reverse-engineering the PassioGo API and continuously ingesting the live positions of all vehicles, the project analyzed the performance of the transportation system.

In January 2025, the project won the second prize at the 2025 UChicago Winter Tech Showcase. In Spring 2025, the UChicago Data Science Institute's Data Science Clinic analyzed data from uchicagoshuttles.com to improve transportation on campus.

As the University has moved away from PassioGo starting in Fall 2025, this project has been shut down and the data collected have been made publicly available.
